Unique accommodation at Varberg fortress

Welcome to an overnight stay in the historical environment at Varberg fortress. The cozy old fortress houses date from the 18th and 19th centuries. Find time to relax in the calm environment where you can look out over the sea horizon and listen to the sound of the waves. Just below the fortress is the mighty Kattegatt Sea with refreshing baths and a beautiful promenade. Varberg town center with shops and restaurants is just a short walk away from the fortress.

At Varberg fortress there is also a museum and a café. At Halland’s Cultural History Museum, the famous Bocksten man is displayed.

Sustainable travel

The train station in Varberg is only about 600 metres from the fortress and there are many train connections here, both north- and southbound. In Varberg you can rent a bike to easily experience more of the town and its surroundings. Or you can go for a cycling holiday! Many of our guests arrive by bike during their travel along the coastal biking path Kattegattleden. At Fästningens you can park your bike and store it overnight at no extra cost.
